Lisbon, N.D. – Sheyenne River Flood Protection (3/27/18 Update)

The city recently ran a mock demonstration to train city staff on the new road closure structure (stop logs) as part of the Levee D project. The stop logs will be installed across ND Highway 27 on the east side of the Sheyenne River during a flood event. The city installed half of the structure and removed it before installing the other half of the structure to maintain ND Highway 27 traffic.

City staff were pleased with the simplicity of the product and the ease of installation. The city will hold training sessions and perform yearly operation and maintenance to ensure that the stop logs are ready to go in the event of a flood.
