Moore Engineering Wins Engineering Drone Video of the Year!
We are delighted to announce that Moore Engineering has won the 2023 Engineering Drone Video of the Year Competition! This is hosted by Civil + Structural Engineer Magazine and you can find the spread on Moore Engineering in their July issue!
Cody Rogness, Videographer and Media Specialist is responsible for capturing the breathtaking aerial footage and bringing home the gold!
Civil+Structural Engineer Magazine celebrates the innovative ways drones and UAVs are transforming the AEC industry. This year, Moore Engineering faced tough competition with over 30 others submitting projects highlighting projects from all over the country.
The winning video features two structures that are vital to flood risk mitigation in the region: the Maple and Upper Maple River Dams in Cass County, North Dakota. The video captures the scale and impact of these projects using drone footage shot during spring flooding when water flows over the spillways of the dams. The video also provides contextual information to explain the purpose and function of the dams, as well as their benefits for the communities they serve.
After 14 days of voting and over 10,000 votes cast, the results were it: Moore Engineering had won by a landslide. Moore’s submission had received over 1,000 more votes than the runner-up, which, by the way, was another Moore Engineering video on flood mitigation work in Lisbon, North Dakota.
The AEC industry is increasingly embracing drone footage as a powerful way to capture and communicate the scope and impact of engineering projects. The 2023 Engineering Drone Video of the Year Competition is a testament to the creativity and innovation that drones enable in our field. Moore Engineering has demonstrated its innovative use of drone technology to enhance client service and showcase its portfolio by winning this competition. Our investment in drones helps us deliver better service to our clients, as we can use them for various purposes, such as data collection, surveying, monitoring, and marketing.
As Kurt Lysne, Market Leader for Moore Engineering, says that drones are an essential tool for serving clients, as they help us with design data collection, LIDAR, aerial photogrammetry, surveying, construction documentation, and monitoring, as well as marketing and communication.
Congratulations, Cody! This award will join the two Emmys he received in his career!
